With over two decades of professional tattooing experience, Ed Zimmer is a seasoned artist whose passion for the craft is evident in every piece he creates. Specializing in color realism, Ed brings vibrant, lifelike imagery to skin with exceptional precision and creativity. His portfolio spans a wide range of styles—from black and gray to illustrative and surreal—showcasing his ability to adapt and excel across multiple tattooing disciplines. Ed’s technical skill is matched by his deep understanding of visual storytelling, resulting in tattoos that are both artistically striking and personally meaningful to each client.
Before becoming a tattoo artist, Ed graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1998, where he developed a strong foundation in traditional art and digital illustration. He went on to work as an inker for Knock Knock Cartoons, an animation studio that further refined his eye for detail and dynamic composition. This unique background in both fine art and animation continues to influence his approach to tattooing, bringing a polished, professional edge to everything he creates.
Since 2015, Ed has owned or co-owned several respected tattoo studios throughout Northeast Ohio. In 2024, he rebranded and relaunched his most recent venture as Metamorphosis Tattoos and Permanent Cosmetics—formerly known as Living Dead Tattoo—to reflect a renewed vision of artistic growth, collaboration, and transformation. Under his leadership, the shop has become a welcoming space for clients and artists alike. Ed has earned numerous awards for his work both locally and internationally, further cementing his reputation as one of the region’s most accomplished and versatile tattoo artists.

Jonesy’s path to becoming a professional tattoo artist is rooted in resilience, passion, and creativity. As a child, art became a vital escape during his mother’s battle with a terminal illness. He spent countless hours drawing his favorite comic book covers and sports heroes, developing a raw, expressive style that laid the foundation for his future in tattooing. Though his journey took a detour through the restaurant industry, getting tattooed for the first time reignited his lifelong love for art—prompting a full commitment to mastering the craft. Thirteen years later, Jonesy has built a respected career tattooing across Ohio, Colorado, and Missouri, earning a reputation for his precision, creativity, and connection with clients.
Jonesy specializes in fine line tattooing and stipple shading, creating delicate yet impactful pieces with refined detail and texture. He’s also passionate about watercolor tattoos and anything rooted in comic book culture—paying homage to the art that first inspired him. Known for bringing a digital-first and client-focused approach to the tattoo experience, Jonesy ensures each session is tailored, thoughtful, and engaging from start to finish. He believes tattoos are more than artwork—they’re stories, and each one deserves care, attention, and connection.
Continuing to innovate the way clients experience their tattoos, Jonesy is currently developing an in-session podcast titled Under The Needle, where he plans to share candid, conversational moments with clients during their appointments. Through storytelling, laughter, and meaningful dialogue, Jonesy aims to offer more than just ink—he offers a memorable experience built on trust, authenticity, and a deep love for the art of tattooing.

Permanent Cosmetics Artist
Ambur Dawn grew up in Lake Zurich, Illinois, until her junior year when her family moved to Hudson, Ohio.
Ambur Dawn’s passion for art was evident at an early age. She spent much of her childhood cultivating her illustration, painting, and sculpting skills. She graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in graphic design. However, she never felt that career path truly satisfied her artistic passions. Her creativity quickly led her to explore other paths. She trained in the culinary arts, working for many years in catering and as a sous chef in Cleveland. Throughout those years, she was given the opportunities to paint murals for local restaurants, develop logos and signage, and do faux finishing and design in homes and churches.
During the pandemic, she spent much of her free time with her daughter and persuing her passion as a certified yoga instructor, teaching the Kent State baseball team, and honing her seamstress skills. She dabbled in alterations and design for a local bridal company. gathering knowledge before discovering permanent cosmetics.
Ambur Dawn’s passion was ignited by permanent cosmetics, a mixture or art and beauty. She realized the permanent cosmetics path would create the chance to share her artistic gifts, by giving clients the ability to enhance their natural attributes and facilitate a healthy body image.
